Traveler, changemaker, lifelong learner. I write about leadership, open source, and global community management.

Hi! I’m Angela (she/her), Head of Programs & Contributor Experience at Automattic. Alongside an amazing community of global contributors, I Make WordPress.

I’m a fan of maps, horror movies, whiskey, the color green, to-do lists and productivity apps. I hope I’ll always be lucky enough to live near a coast, but I’m terrified of swimming in the ocean. In my spare time, I read, write, cook, attempt to garden, and pretend to exercise. My goal in life is to be fully engaged with what I choose to do, be it work, relationships, community endeavors, etc.

It’s hard to find me in one spot for too long – I travel frequently, partially for work and partially because I love to do so. Because of my travels, I picked up a camera so that I could better photo-document my adventures. And that’s the story of how I became a hobbyist photographer with a blog.

These days I mostly share thoughts on leadership and community, and an occasional photo from my travels. But you can also find some personal musings and recaps of talks I’ve given, if you really want them.
